Theatre Vredenburg (Leidsche Rijn - the Netherlands)

With the refurbishment of its original city centre premises, Theatre Vredenburg is going to have two sites in Utrecht until 2012: Vredenburg Leidsche Rijn and Vredenburg Leeuwenbergh. Vredenburg Leidsche Rijn is mainly where major concerts take place. Apart from a concert hall, there are two spacious foyers in the Vredenburg Leidsche Rijn building. To prevent disturbing sound penetrating into the concert hall from the foyers, sound-insulating doors had to be fitted as access doors. To guarantee the safety of visitors, a number of doors not only had to be sound-insulating but also fire-resistant. In some cases doors with panic exit devices were required.

Merford supplied and fitted sound-insulating and combined sound-insulating / fire-resistant doors of the MN47, MN53 and MD55 types. A number of doors are also fitted with panic exit devices. In this way the doors can be used as access doors from the foyers to the auditorium and also as escape doors.
